Dr Jonathan Shamash graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1987 and undertook undergraduate training in London gaining an MD in in-vitro modeling of lymphoma. His current practice is based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Queen’s Hospital, Romford. He sub-specialises in genito-urinary cancers and thoracic malignancies where he has an interest in the management of thymic tumours. He is the lead in acute oncology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
He chairs the supra-regional germ cell tumour multidisciplinary meeting and is a member of the NCRI testis clinical studies group. He leads various clinical studies in the management of testicular and prostate cancer and has published widely on both.
He has a special interest in managing complex oncology problems and delivery of intensive treatments including high dose interleukin2 and high dose chemotherapy in testicular cancer. He holds a grant from the Orchid Cancer Appeal for research in to male cancers.
