At the same time Dr Kay and Dr David Goff between them provided a comprehensive clinical haematology service for both adults and children generated by a population of over 300,000 in the Sunderland district. Dr Kay and the team set up a dedicated haemato-oncology unit, treating acute and chronic leukaemia, lymphomas, and myeloma. Her broad experience led to her appointment to both Regional and National Haematological Advisory Boards and to the Post-Graduate senior Registrar Training Committee.
Dr Kay was appointed Medical Director and Consultant Haematologist to the AMI group of hospitals, laboratory and clinical Haematology services in 1990, since then she has built up a large clinical practice in central London. Following the acquisition of AMI by the HCA group of hospitals in the mid 1990s her continuing interests in the haemato-oncological field led to her involvement in setting- up and admitting patients to the Harley Street Clinic Cancer Centre which has close connections with LOC. Dr Kay is on the HCA group’s Tumour Advisory Board for haematology.Make an appointment
